Lily Atwood is an Emmy-winner, famous television reporter。 She has a #perfectlife with her 7 year old daughter Rowan。 But that’s about to change when a series of mysterious events start to happen。 At the same time, Lily is contacted by an anonymous source who seems to have more to share than just tips about the next good story。 This is a good mystery, with lots of twists。 I enjoyed the guessing game, but I almost feel like it was a bit stretched to keep the story going。 I enjoy the multiple POVs Lily Atwood is an Emmy-winner, famous television reporter。 She has a #perfectlife with her 7 year old daughter Rowan。 But that’s about to change when a series of mysterious events start to happen。 At the same time, Lily is contacted by an anonymous source who seems to have more to share than just tips about the next good story。 This is a good mystery, with lots of twists。 I enjoyed the guessing game, but I almost feel like it was a bit stretched to keep the story going。 I enjoy the multiple POVs style and being able to really get a good look at each character。 I have to say I was a bit disappointed with this book, because I truly enjoyed The First to Lie, Hank’s previous book。 Not impressed with the ending at all。 。。。more

Hank Phillippi Ryan has done it again。 She’s a weaver of tales – a storyteller – who draws you into the story in the first page and doesn’t let you go until the very last word。 Her latest book, to be released in September 2021, is about Lily Atwood。 She seems to have a perfect life。 She’s a successful television reporter who has everything anyone could want – and her fans love her - but she has secrets and you are not sure if the right or the wrong person knows them。This captivating story had me Hank Phillippi Ryan has done it again。 She’s a weaver of tales – a storyteller – who draws you into the story in the first page and doesn’t let you go until the very last word。 Her latest book, to be released in September 2021, is about Lily Atwood。 She seems to have a perfect life。 She’s a successful television reporter who has everything anyone could want – and her fans love her - but she has secrets and you are not sure if the right or the wrong person knows them。This captivating story had me literally holding my breath because I was so involved in the story line。 I became a part of the story and a part of the characters’ lives – wanting to be the omniscient narrator knowing all that was happening, but realizing with each surprising turn in the plot that I was a limited reader reading to see where the book was going to take the characters next。 I couldn’t put the book down; and was disappointed when it was over。 This is one that I will want to reread – and will probably still be surprised at the ending。 。。。more

Slow Burn With A Bang。 This is one of those slow burn mysteries that doesn't seem like the stakes are *overly* high。。。 until you find yourself in a situation with guns drawn in broad daylight in the streets of Boston。 (Yes, a touch of a spoiler, but a very minor one given the lack of other details。 :D) Overall you've got three primary perspectives, two in third person (sisters) and one in first, and everyone is hiding things from everyone for varying reasons and no one really knows who to trust Slow Burn With A Bang。 This is one of those slow burn mysteries that doesn't seem like the stakes are *overly* high。。。 until you find yourself in a situation with guns drawn in broad daylight in the streets of Boston。 (Yes, a touch of a spoiler, but a very minor one given the lack of other details。 :D) Overall you've got three primary perspectives, two in third person (sisters) and one in first, and everyone is hiding things from everyone for varying reasons and no one really knows who to trust at all, including some of the non-perspective characters。 So on that point, this tale works well - if, again, a bit slow and seemingly low-stake。 But it is compelling enough to have you want to follow along and see what exactly happens, particularly once we begin to get the third perspective (which doesn't happen until around the 25-33% of the book, IIRC)。 Overall an inventive tale that plays with some well worn tropes and spins them a bit in a new-ish way, and for this it is very much recommended。 。。。more

Loved this book!!! Engaging characters and mega suspenseful plot with intense twists!!!Loved how each chapter was written from a different point of view and from their own sinister motivation。 The suspense is palpable with each passing chapter。 Will Lily be able to hold on to her carefully guarded perfection or will her heart give in to her painful past。 Couldn’t put this book down。 I highly recommend it。

Thank you Macmillan and NetGalley for this book。 Lily is a famous tv personality。 She has a producer, Greer, and a 7 yo daughter named Rowen。 When Lily was seven, her 18 yo sister left because she did a bad thing。 The story goes back and forth between what Cassie did and Lily’s life now。 It’s a quick read and seems quite plausible。 This is also a fast read, and if you have to put it down, you can pick right up again。

I was given an ARC of this book and I truly enjoyed it。 It took me a little while to get into it otherwise I would have given it 5 stars ⭐️ but I rarely give 5 stars anyway。 It became a page turner trying to figure out who the man was that was bringing together the 2 sisters that hadn’t seen each other in 25 years due to a situation that one sister blamed herself for and it wasn’t even true。 I would recommend this book。 Thank you for giving me this chance to read this book as a top follower。 Kud I was given an ARC of this book and I truly enjoyed it。 It took me a little while to get into it otherwise I would have given it 5 stars ⭐️ but I rarely give 5 stars anyway。 It became a page turner trying to figure out who the man was that was bringing together the 2 sisters that hadn’t seen each other in 25 years due to a situation that one sister blamed herself for and it wasn’t even true。 I would recommend this book。 Thank you for giving me this chance to read this book as a top follower。 Kudos to this sweet author。 。。。more

This is a page turner that I couldn't put down。 Short-ish chapters help it to move quickly。 Plot twists are surprising and unexpected。 Greer wasn't my favorite character - she whined alot - but I see how it worked in the end。 This is a page turner that I couldn't put down。 Short-ish chapters help it to move quickly。 Plot twists are surprising and unexpected。 Greer wasn't my favorite character - she whined alot - but I see how it worked in the end。 。。。more

I tried my best not to DNF it and I finally read it。 Whew! Her Perfect Life is about Lily Atwood a famous TV reporter who gets scoops through her sources which are anonymous people。 Apparently she had everything perfect in her life。 Firsty, I disagreed with this point。 I found this being overly blown for no reason; Lily was just a reporter who was famous and seemed to look perfect all the time。 Is that not how every celebrity looks? Same was the case with Lily, she won 3 Emmy's which was repeatedly told to prove her perfection。 She dressed nice, she appeared nice in front of people。 She had a sweet daughter。 Calling her Perfect again and again was annoying to read。 PLOT:Moving on, Lily gets a mysterious call by an anonymous person who seems to know about her past and secrets which creeps her out。 The mystery was intriguing in the beginning, what crazy secrets could the perfect Lily possibly have? I kind of lost interest in the plot since the story was told from multiple POVs, bits of the mystery were revealed and it wasn't hard to piece them together。 And the main plot twist (which was predictable); it was a huge, slow build-up to nothing。 And wrapped up hurriedly in a few chapters。WIRITNG STYLE:The writing style was dragged throughout the book。 It was slow and filled with unnecessary details that I mostly skimmed。 It seemed the plot was carried about thoughts, views and speculations of the characters。 CHARACTERS: Lily Atwood had a paranoid personality and getting to know her thoughts was interesting。 She worried about the smallest things related to her daughter's and her own safety because if the nature of her job。 Conclusively, the story had potential but I couldn't enjoy it。*thank you NetGallry for providing me with an ARC* 。。。more

This thriller was fast-paced, exciting, and unpredictable。 I didn't see the final twist coming, so I was shocked when it was revealed! I like the general plot and the way Hank Phillippi Ryan builds suspense, but the characters were flat。 Greer was unlikeable and her perspective didn't really engage me。 I couldn't really connect with Lily either。 Although I did not form an attachment to any of the narrators, "Her Perfect Life" was entertaining and I think many fans of mystery will enjoy it。 This thriller was fast-paced, exciting, and unpredictable。 I didn't see the final twist coming, so I was shocked when it was revealed! I ended up liking this book, but it took awhile to get there。 the characters initially weren't likeable, an egotistical news personality, a very naive young woman and why she took on so much guilt was unclear and a jealous news producer。 Add to this a mysterious, possibly dangerous source and an ex lover。 Once it started moving, it got more and more interesting, while i guessed part of the twist, it was interesting to see how it played out。 Most of the characters grew and most of the storylines I ended up liking this book, but it took awhile to get there。 the characters initially weren't likeable, an egotistical news personality, a very naive young woman and why she took on so much guilt was unclear and a jealous news producer。 Add to this a mysterious, possibly dangerous source and an ex lover。 Once it started moving, it got more and more interesting, while i guessed part of the twist, it was interesting to see how it played out。 Most of the characters grew and most of the storylines got tied up。 Overall it became a satisfying read 。。。more
